Efficient logistics is the backbone of Redington’s growth. Redington is renowned across MEA for its consistency in delivery, large storage capacity and swift turnaround time in execution of orders. Over the years, Redington has perfected the art of seamlessly delivering products everywhere in the region – from the established Middle East markets to the difficult terrains of Africa. This has been achieved by constant innovation, technological upgrades and an efficient system-led process, backed by professional expertise.
Redington’s logistical might is evident in its delivery volumes. Over 26 million units are moved across some 2,500 SKUs in MEA markets.
Automated Distribution Centre (ADC) The ADC, the mother hub of Redington’s warehousing capabilities in Jebel Ali, Dubai, is a statement in cutting-edge innovation. The state-of-the-art technology-driven facility – spread across 94,300 square feet – has helped lower costs, reduce turnaround time and improve logistical efficiency.
ADC is the backbone of Redington’s ambition to become an end-to-end supply chain consolidator in the region. ADC complements the vision of Redington to be infrastructure-ready for the next decade and to become the ultimate mover of goods across markets in a timely and efficient manner.
Innovation is at the core of ADC. It is equipped with a 16- metre high Racking System, Very Narrow Aisle Technology (VNA) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Redington is the first company in the Middle East to implement Task Resource Management (TRM), an integrated module of SAP. TRM enables reduction in operational redundancies and cut down manual interventions drastically while allowing online monitoring of throughput and people efficiency on a daily basis.
The warehouse is WiFi enabled and is equipped with advance Radio Frequency (RFI) capability which helps locate products by barcode tracking. ADC is futuristic, and is able to handle around 10,000 pallet position and 25 loading bays with 24-hour security. In line with Redington’s customer-centric business acumen, the company has implemented an Order Acknowledgement Schedule to notify customers on their order status enabling them to plan shipping schedules. A First in First Out (FIFO) facility will complement this system.
Redington has a total of 26 warehouses across MEA including stocking points in Africa, the growth destination of the next decade for the company. The stocking points in Africa supports local clearing with customs personnel on site. The local stocking points are integral to Redington’s vision of in-country presence for faster turnaround of goods.
